Wall Panel Buying Guide
A wall panel purchase fails when the look is chosen first and the core is chosen last. This guide is the order we use with importers, contractors and project buyers: decide the wall, then the material family, then a series you can sample.
1. Name the wall, not the catalogue
Write down:
- Interior or exterior, and the city
- Viewing distance (feature at 400 mm vs a corridor field)
- Cleaning, fire or acoustic requirements
- Substrate (new board, existing tile, facade frame)
- Programme (mockup date, open date)
Interior walls and exterior cladding are different specifications even when they share a colour name.
2. Separate look from core
A travertine wall can be flexible stone, MCM, PU or a printed board. The travertine collection is the look. The product page is the material. If you only send a Pinterest photo, we will name the core it actually is — stacked-stone photos are often PU, not a 2 mm veneer.
3. Sample before you price a container
Approve a physical sheet under the project lighting. A 100 mm chip does not represent a vein, a flute width or a rammed-earth band. Lock that lot as the reference. We will not promise a match from a PDF swatch alone.
4. Ask for the file that exists
Fire, weather and acoustic numbers belong to a named series and test condition. See test reports. If no file exists, “none” is the honest answer — not a neighbour’s PDF.
5. What to send with a quote
Application, city, indoor/outdoor, approximate square metres, target look (or a photo), and whether you need samples first. Use Get a quote or Request samples.
