Freeze–thaw durability is not determined by flexibility alone. Water entry, saturation, material porosity, adhesive, substrate, joints, temperature cycling and drying conditions all influence the installed result.
Evidence to request
Ask for the test method, cycle count, specimen construction, conditioning, pass criteria, observations and identification of the tested product. Confirm whether the report addresses the panel alone or a bonded assembly.
Detail to limit saturation
Cold-climate design should reduce water entry and allow drainage and drying. Coordinate copings, flashings, joints, penetrations, base details and repairs as part of the wall—not as accessories to the panel.
Project approval
The design team should compare available evidence with the local climate, code and expected service conditions. A result from one product or assembly should not be generalized to others.
