Start with the wall’s use
Start with how the wall will be used. A reception backdrop, a corridor touched by luggage and a wall beside cleaning equipment need different review questions. State the contact and cleaning conditions before asking for a product recommendation.

Choose the texture for the room
Choose the visual direction first: travertine-look for directional texture, limestone-look for a quieter stone appearance, or concrete-look for a grey mineral surface. Compare the candidates beside the room’s joinery, paint and lighting using physical samples.

Review lighting, seams and terminations together
Mark sheet direction, intended seams and the wall limits at ceilings, joinery, corners and openings on the same elevation. Review a panel joint and a termination under the intended lighting before releasing the layout. A small colour sample alone cannot settle those details.
Use the same labels on the elevation and the photos. Include the light position, panel direction and a close-up of the proposed edge so the installer and designer review the same detail.
Confirm the substrate and bonding system
Identify the receiving wall and every layer that will remain. Resolve loose finishes, contamination, moisture and cracks before bonding. Confirm preparation, primer where required, adhesive and panel-backing compatibility for the selected product, then review the proposed assembly in a representative site mock-up.

Use limits and approval
This page covers dry interior decorative walls. High-contact areas need a separate review of impact and cleaning requirements for the named product. Request the fire and other documents required by the project for the proposed assembly before approval.
The opening reception scene is an appearance reference. Keep the finish sample approval and the technical approval of the wall assembly as separate project records.
Compare the quotation scope
Compare like-for-like scopes: the chosen product and format, wall preparation, primer and adhesive, cutting and edge work, packing and freight. A material-only quotation cannot settle the installed project cost.
